Arched niche and olive drapes transform simple wood dining space

The before image shows a minimal dining corner with a rectangular wooden table, four matching chairs, pale walls and a single window with sheer curtains. The AI concept introduces a built-in arched niche in the wall, deeper green drapes, a large aged-brass dome pendant and rattan seating around a wider wooden table. Visible changes focus on texture and silhouette: the arch and recessed shelf add architectural interest, the pendant creates a central focal point, and woven seating plus a natural-fiber rug layer warmth and Mediterranean character into the room.

The Transformation Journey

In the before image the room reads as an undecorated dining area: plain trim, light walls, a mid-tone wood table and four simple chairs centered on the floor. Light enters from a single double-hung window with lightweight curtains.

The AI concept applies Mediterranean cues: an arched inset is carved into the wall and styled with terracotta pots, taller olive-green drapery is hung on a visible brass rod, rattan side chairs replace the originals and a large aged-brass dome pendant hangs above a longer wooden table on a woven area rug. These visible edits demonstrate a cohesive change in proportion, materials, and focal elements.

What This Transformation Achieved

  • Introduced an arched recessed niche to create a Mediterranean architectural focus
  • Replaced sheer curtains with floor-length olive drapes on a brass rod to frame the window
  • Added rattan seating, woven rug and a large aged-brass pendant to layer texture and define the dining area

Style Transformation

What we did: space transform to Action: Produce one photorealistic Modern Mediterranean renovation concept for the provided dining room photo. Transform visible finishes and built-ins while keeping the room function as a dining room. Apply a warm creamy Venetian plaster finish to all walls with subtle hand-trowel texture and a slightly warmer off-white ceiling; replace the sheer curtains with full-height olive-linen drapery panels mounted higher and wider than the existing window to visually raise the ceiling; add a low, built-in plaster buffet (integrated, flush to the right wall) with a honed travertine countertop and a single shallow arched niche above it finished in soft plaster and backlit with warm LED so the niche holds two terracotta bowls and a small olive branch arrangement. Replace the existing table and chairs with a scaled artisan reclaimed-wood dining table (rectangular, same footprint but with softer rounded edges) and six rattan-backed dining chairs with olive-linen seat cushions; center the table in the same location as the original so circulation and service locations are preserved. Ground the set with a large natural jute rug that has a subtle terracotta stripe, and place a tall potted olive tree in a terra-cotta planter in the corner by the window. Add a single oversized domed pendant light in aged brass with a terracotta matte inner finish, suspended over the table at a realistic height; create believable warm daylight coming through the existing window producing soft, directional shadows and ambient fill light. Preserve: original camera angle, room proportions, walls, window and door openings, baseboard height and hardwood floor visibility. Constraints: Photorealistic rendering, true-to-life material textures (plaster, travertine, rattan, linen, terracotta, aged brass), accurate scale and perspective for the photographed viewpoint, natural daylight illumination, no people, no logos, no text, no collage elements, seamless integration of added built-in with existing shell. Output target: One high-resolution photorealistic image of the renovated dining room in Modern Mediterranean style, ready for presentation. style; preserve layout and structural elements; maintain existing style elements; DO NOT change walls or structural elements; DO NOT modify structural elements or windows; photorealistic, high-quality, professional interior design photography; maintain existing style aesthetic; web-optimized, crisp details; 2048x1152 for web

AI Reasoning:Generate a single photorealistic image showing the dining room remodeled in a Modern Mediterranean palette: creamy plaster walls, travertine-built-in buffet with arched niche, terracotta accents, olive linens and greenery, artisan wood dining set on a jute rug, and a warm brass/terracotta pendant — preserve original camera angle, openings and proportions; no people, logos or text.

Will switching to rattan chairs work with my existing wood table?

Yes — the concept pairs rattan-framed chairs with a medium-toned wooden table; choose cushion colors (olive in the concept) that tie to drapery or accent pieces to unify the materials.

How prominent should the pendant be over the table?

The AI concept uses a large dome pendant centered above the table to create a single focal point; pick a size that covers roughly one-third to one-half of the table width to maintain visual balance.
